THE MISSION
The mission of the Heartland Public Health Education & Training Center (HETC) is to "expand partnerships and critical linkages among state and local practice and academic partners in Missouri and Kansas in order to provide improved access to education and training for the current and future public health workforce while strengthening competence, performance, and capacity to improve the nation’s public health system."


Education & Training

A primary goal of HETC is to utilize a comprehensive, competency-based approach to educate and train the public health workforce.


Projects

HETC, in collaboration with academic and practice partners, is engaged in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of programs and products designed to meet stakeholder and workforce documented needs.


Partners & Resources

HETC is a public health training center (PHTC) funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, Bureau of Health Professions. HETC is part of the National PHTC Network and strives to provide fundamental education and training in public health.
