Great Basin Public Health Leadership
Institute
The Great Basin Public Health Leadership
Institute (GBPHLI) provides a year-long
training program in advanced leadership
skills for mid-upper level public health
practitioners in Nevada and Utah. This
program provides instruction in ten key
competencies to develop reflective leaders
who can create positive change in
systems, organizations, and communities.
Great Basin scholars receive training
from practice-based faculty through distance
learning events, and three 3-1/2 day
on-site retreats. They also receive 360°
feedback, including personal coaching,
and each scholar is required to engage in
a meaningful project during their scholarship
year. This program accepts individual
and team applications. The scholarship
year begins on March 1. The GBPHLI operates
under the auspices of HealthInsight,
a non-profit Quality Improvement Organization
(QIO) serving Utah and Nevada.
