Public Health Leadership Institute
The Southeast Public Health Leadership Institute is a year-long leadership development program for public health professionals working in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. The Institute supports the strengthening of leadership competencies such as creating a shared vision, systems thinking, risk communication, ethics, team building, and political and social change strategies. Scholars interact with local and national leaders during three working retreats, telephone conferences, and regular online computer discussion forums. Each scholar also completes an individual learning plan, a community leadership project, a mentoring relationship, and group assignments related to public health challenges in the southeastern United States.
