Oklahoma Public Health Leadership Institute
This collaborative partnership between Oklahoma State Department of Health and the University of Oklahoma Health
Science Center/College of Public Health consists of three modules over one year. The curriculum focus is on development of leadership skills and population-based preventive health incorporating community development training.
Fellows are assigned to work in a team to complete a team project. Team projects are designed to provide a format for fellows to apply information obtained during the institute, as well as use existing knowledge and resources, communication and organization skills. Teams must explore or research a current or emerging issue and its effect on public health in the future. In addition, teams must provide potential recommendations and solutions to the problem. Presentations are given during the last module of the institute.
