Puerto Rico Public Health
Leadership Institute (Instituto De Liderato En Salud Publica De Puerto
Rico)
ILISAP PR is an institute for applied
research in public health leadership for
public health professionals in Puerto Rico
and other Latin American countries.
Through a two-year continuing education
program offers an innovative approach to
leadership development. The Institute is
co-sponsored and funded by the Puerto
Rico Department of Health under the
leadership of Dr. Johnny Rullán, and the
University of Puerto Rico (UPR) Graduate
School of Public Health. The public
health leadership curriculum has placed a
great emphasis on leadership skills, communication,
team building, partnerships,
and strategic alliances. The curriculum is
based on the Competency Model, Adult
Learning Theory and Experiential Learning
Theory. A certificate, as well as, continuing
education credits will be awarded
to Institute scholars after the completion
of the educational experience.
