United States Attorney’s Office for Eastern Missouri (USAO) – http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/moe/
HC collaborates with USAO to expand co-sponsorship of workforce development and training for trainers programs in Public Health/Law Enforcement Forensic Epidemiology Investigation and Unified Command Structures.  This is a regional effort provided within the structure of the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Response System (SLMMRS) to link key stakeholders at the federal, state, and local law enforcement level with public health and hospital communities to expand access and form an integrated approach to cross-sector workforce development programs.

HC is collaborating with the FBI to expand workforce development in Forensic Epidemiology, Unified Command Structures, and Bioterrorism/WMD Exercise Development.  In addition, the HC and IBS co-sponsored a meeting at Saint Louis University with the agent in charge of the St. Louis FBI Office to identify gaps in bioterrorism preparedness with the FBI’s Incident Command Structure.

HC is co-sponsoring a regional Forensic Epidemiology Conference with the police department.  The HC Associate Director is serving as a technical advisor to the Department on Bioterrorism/WMD Response and Incident Command.

St. Louis City Department of Corrections – http://www.doc.missouri.gov/division/prob/ppdist.htm
HC has been engaged as technical advisors for the Department for Forensic Epidemiology training and for review of the Bioterrorism/WMD Preparedness planning and emergency response.

St. Louis City Parole and Probation Department –
HC has been engaged as technical advisors for the Department to develop capacity to support region wide Forensic Epidemiology response and integrate into SLMMRS MEDCOMM operations.

St. Louis City Department of Public Safety, Urban Area Security Initiative (8 contiguous counties in eastern Missouri and Illinois) – http://stlouis.missouri.org/citygov/dps/dps.htm
HC provides technical assistance input to the Initiative on how Homeland Security funds will be allocated for equipment and exercise development in the areas of biological, chemical, and radiological for area wide emergency response agencies.

Missouri Primary Care Association and FQHCs – http://www.mo-pca.org/
HC and IBS provided briefing books containing information for bioterrorism/WMD preparedness planning.  HC provided technical assistance in the development of emergency response cards for key staff of Peoples Health Center as part of the FQHC interface for the project.

Emerging Leaders Institute

The Emerging Leaders Institute is sponsored by the UIC-SPH Center for Public Health Practice and the Heartland Centers at St. Louis University, School of Public Health. The Institute is part of a continuum of training programs that strengthen the public health workforce through coordinated training and organizational development. The Emerging Leaders Institute builds public health practice by combining cutting edge face-to-face training with individual infrastructure improvement projects. As the conclusion of the program, Fellows will be prepared to assume leadership positions within their agencies, and will have the skills necessary to lead collaborative initiatives that characterize public health practice.
